SARAH
FRIEDLAND (Co Director/Producer) began her career as an
editor, working on many projects including the Emmy nominated
film, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF FRIDA KAHLO by Amy Stechler.
Friedland's first feature documentary, THING WITH NO NAME
premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and screened
at over 50 festivals internationally and nationally. Her
work has been supported by grants from the Jerome Foundation,
the Paul Newman Foundation and the William H. Prusoff Foundation.
In 2009, Friedland was named one of the “10 independent
filmmakers to look out for” by the Independent Magazine.
Friedland has been a LABA House of Study Fellow and a MacDowell Colony Fellow. She is the Head of the Film and Media Studies Program at Wagner College.
ESY CASEY(Co Director/Producer)
is a Filipino American filmmaker and graphic designer.
She co produced and shot THING WITH NO NAME (2008, available
on iTunes), which was nominated for Best Documentary at
the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Haskell Wexler Prize
for Best Cinematography. She has received awards and fellowships
from The Princess Grace Foundation, The Ford Foundation,
The Center for Asian American Media, PLAYA Artist Residency and the MacDowell Colony. Her films
with Sarah Friedland have been featured on the sites of
Filmmaker Magazine and Art Asia Pacific Magazine, and her
current film JEEPNEY aired nationaly on PBS World in 2015.
In 2012 Friedland and
Casey created Perinspire
LLC, a production company committed to creative
and meaningful work.
